ABSTRACT

Biological studies on Cheyletus malaccensis (Oud.) were carried out in laboratory at 27'C & 70% R.H. Laboratory experiments showed that eggs of Lasioderma serricorne L. seem to be a very adequate prey for this predaceous mite. Duration and feeding capacities of the various stages of this cheyletid predator were recorded. Longevities of females and males lasted 603 and 29.6 days, respectively. During larval, protonymphal and adult stages, the male consumed 2.0, 4.2 and 2.6 eggs, while the female consumed 2.3 ,3.6 and 106.4 eggs, respectively.
